Title: Title: 23rd Street – Lexington Station, New York 1981

Living in New York in 1981/2 was like nothing else for a 21 year-old artistic hopeful. It was all happening and I was wandering the city wide-eyed and with camera. I had gone on a whim to work with Alen MacWeeney and every day brought some new challenge. From basic life and where I was to live to creative challenges brought on by my work with Alen. Thinking of myself as a landscape photographer, I was faced with a new landscape and doing my best to find my way. It wasn’t easy and, at the time, I wasn’t terribly impressed with what I was making. But, as with everything, time has its way and looking back I am grateful to have all of it. In just the simple “snaps” I made, I see all over them the style I thought I lacked and was looking for in other places.”
